On October 9, 2020, the company received breaking news from Fresh-Aire UV concerning COVID-19. Fresh-Aire UV announced; “OUR TECHNOLOGY INACTIVATES >99.99% OF SARS-COV-2 WITHIN 0-2 SECONDS!
“We successfully completed phase-1 third-party testing of residential, commercial, and healthcare products for effectiveness against SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19 disease).”
As Miller recalls, it all began back in 2008 during the height of the global recession when she was laid off from her job at a local resort.
“In 2008, that’s when all of the hotels had big layoffs because of the economic downturn. At the time I worked at a hotel in the sales department. I was laid off. I was presented with an opportunity to start my own business and introduce the air and water treatment products to The Bahamas. I didn’t know much about it at the time but took a leap of faith. I got to learn about the products from the suppliers and eventually became one of the leading persons with knowledge about the technology. I started speaking with local architects and engineers and realized that this was something new for The Bahamas,” said Miller.
Miller has steadily grown the business over the years, introducing the line of products to one customer and one company at a time, while tending to her ailing mother who sadly passed away last year.
“Running a business from home gave me an opportunity to look after my mother and she passed in January 2019. Running a business and being a caretaker wasn’t easy but by the grace of God I was able to do it,” said Miller.
She notes that to-date her biggest clients have been residential homes in the Old Fort Bay and Lyford Cay and Paradise Island but with the COVID-19 pandemic heightening the need for sanitization, she is doubling her efforts to spread the word about the product line
