Crypto Isle to host regional digital assets conference ahead of grand launch

Crypto Isle, The Bahamas’ first and only cryptocurrency and blockchain co-working space, knowledge source, and membership community, will host SiliconCaribe’s first annual Future of Caribbean Money Conference (FOCMNY) to be held December 8th and 9th at CI’s headquarters on East Bay Street, formerly Luciano’s of Chicago. Featuring presentations by Prime Minister The Rt Hon Philip Davis and Minister of Economic Affairs The Hon. Michael Halkitis, the conference will explore who and what is shaping the future of how we make, manage, and invest money.

The Bahamas has positioned itself as the regional forerunner in the digital economy, launching Sand Dollar, introducing the revolutionary Digital Assets and Registered Exchanges Act, and attracting significant players like Tether, Bitfinex, and FTX. 

As the nation’s first crypto hub, Crypto Isle is building on this momentum. The organization aims to drive the advancement of digital assets and technology by providing a deep knowledge base for the beginning crypto enthusiast and a community for seasoned industry leaders to connect, network, and build.

Ahead of its official launch, Crypto Isle will welcome hundreds of virtual digital asset enthusiasts as FOCMNY amplifies the people and businesses using technology, collaboration, community, and daring policy to reimagine the future of Caribbean money. Crypto Isle is inviting persons from its client and supporter network as well as crypto enthusiasts  to attend the two-day conference in person to celebrate its upcoming launch. Led by Dr. P. Jillian Bethel, Crypto Isle’s oceanfront coworking space will consist of private offices and communal spaces, including an on-site restaurant, conference room, and members-only lounge ideal for meetings and special events for all industries. 

The organization will also provide in-person and virtual educational resources as well as a membership community to provide an avenue for networking, exploring job board opportunities, and fine-tuning skills. 

Bethel is one of a growing number of women advancing blockchain technology and cryptocurrency in the region. In 2017, she transitioned from a successful medical career as an Obstetrician-Gynecologist to deep dive into entrepreneurship in the blockchain industry. 

She holds a Cryptocurrency and Disruption designation from the London School of Economics and Political Science and has served as a 2019 Blockchain Business School mentor, leading her team to victory. In 2019, she co founded the blockchain technology company HODL with a team of three colleagues and was awarded Deltec International Group’s Young Entrepreneurs Award at its annual conference for, In 2020, Bethel co-founded IslandBit, a successful startup pioneering the digital assets landscape in The Bahamas. The upcoming launch of CryptoIsle is a continuum of her ethos as a disruptor developing cutting-edge gateways to growth.
