Actuarial and risk consulting firm, Nichol & Co, will host a business continuity planning webinar on April 7. The webinar will focus on providing practical and useful information for small to medium Bahamian businesses.
The webinar will be facilitated by Rayon Brown, a Consulting Actuary with Nichol & Co and a Director of Nassau Captive Management Services Limited. Brown is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, and a Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary. He has 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, with several years spent working in the United Kingdom.
Nichol & Co had planned to host its first annual Risk Symposium in May of 2020, but those plans were set aside due to the crucial need for social distancing at this time.
“The down time caused by the current coronavirus pandemic can allow some time for managers to review and revise their business continuity plans. The planning process can also provide a sense of comfort for both managers and employees as it aims to keep the operations going while helping to set expectations during times of crisis,” said Brown.
The upcoming webinar will focus on aspects of business continuity insurance and other alternative risk transfer solutions for financing the cost of business continuity risks. Emphasis will be placed on the need to keep hurricane preparedness in mind as the 2020 hurricane season is approaching.
