Popeyes world-famous “bona fide,” hand-battered chicken and “Louisiana-style” seafood is back! The southern-inspired quick serve restaurant will debut in New Providence by the first week of December with a full staff compliment of 100.
The new $2 million Popeyes flagship store will be 4,000 square feet and located on the North side of Prince Charles drive, before the intersection of Prince Charles and Fox Hill. Modeled after the company’s new International design, the restaurant décor depicts the rich heritage and vibrancy of New Orleans, and the tradition of infusing exotic spice blends to create deeply satisfying meals.
The Popeyes Bahamas franchise is owned and operated by brothers, Chris and Terry Tsavoussis, the successful entrepreneurial team responsible for top notch brands, Wendy’s & Marco’s Pizza. According to Chris Tsavoussis, “It was Popeye’s brand pillar of “quality” and the strength of the brand’s strategic growth plan that first caught our interest. Just last week Popeyes opened it’s 2,500th restaurant in Puerto Rico. The company has an uncompromising approach to delivering excellence in operations and customer service, and with that kind of focus and commitment on both a local and international level, we are very optimistic about the brand’s performance.”
Terry Tsavoussis further noted, “Customers will find the Louisiana-style of seasoning and cooking to be extremely palatable and similar to our own. Popeye’s takes the concept of perfecting the flavor of every aspect of a meal to a whole new level. As business people and operators we immediately recognized this as a huge upsell that would delight and build loyalty with our consumers.”
Customers can look forward to the boundless flavor of 12-hour, pre-marinated southern-fried spicy and mild chicken, succulent popcorn shrimp, and hearty favorites like Red Beans & Rice and Mac n’ Cheese. According to Randy Sands, Vice President of Operations for the three brands, “the restaurant will be fully staffed with 100 employees including an experienced management team of eight. We anticipate opening three stores over the next three years, depending on how well the brand is received. From all indicators, it’s gearing up to be a very competitive and robust brand in our market and region.”
The Popeye’s Job Fair, which was promoted on Facebook and local media was an overwhelming success with over 500 people showing up to be interviewed for positions. Human Resources Manager, Chantell Dames explained, “we’re encouraged by the turnout and the level of enthusiasm displayed by the candidates.”
